Tony Adamo Mike Clark Jeff Berlin Random Act Records

A music review in the December issue of JazzTimes on the Scott Henderson/Jeff Berlin/ Dennis Chambers new CD,HBC on (Tone Center Records) One cut in particular that stands out in the review is Herbie Hancock's "Actual Proof." And how HBC interprets that song. Dig it on the serious side. If you want to get hip the the original. Then open up your ears to Mike Clark's performance on Hancock's album Thrust (1974), and particularly the song "Actual Proof", is often cited as one of the finest examples of the linear funk style of drumming. There’s energy and honor and wonder in Adamo’s words, especially in the fluid alliterative syncopated way the words reflect the inspiration that jazz gave him as an artist, as a human being.” Devon Jackson, Village Voice Rolling Stone and Details Legendary drummer, Mike Clark is the producer on Tony Adamo’s hi-voltage vocals and Nu-Jazz Funk/Hipspokenword dialogue on MILES OF BLU Cd.
